OVERVIEW: The Controlling Lifting Operations - Planning Lifts qualification structure specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification; an Appointed Person and carrying out planning lifts within the construction industry.


CPCS Blue Card














NPORS Blue Card













The CPCS/NPORS Red Trained Operator card is valid for 2 years, during which time you are required to undertake the relevant plant NVQ to upgrade to the Blue Competent Operator Card. On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CPCS/NPORS tests and the CITB HS&E test (within the last 2 years), you will be able to apply for the Blue CPCS/NPORS card.



L5 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations - Planning Lifts (Construction)

Minimum Credit Value: 99 Reference: 610/0808/4


To achieve this qualification a minimum of 7 units need to be attained. This consists of seven mandatory units

Planning and Establishing Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Systems for Lifting Operations in the Workplace - credits 17 | Level 5

Planning Lifting Activities in the Workplace - credits 26 | Level 5

Planning the Preparation of the Site for the Project in the Workplace - credits 16 | Level 7

Planning Work Activities and Resources to Meet Project Requirements in the Workplace - credits 13 | Level 4
